GET FIT THIS RAINY SEASON
While most of enjoy the joys of the monsoons, the rains come with its pain points as far as outdoor fitness activities are concerned. This includes:
a) Running or Jogging.
b) Outdoor Hikes and Treks.
c) Biking trails.
d) Swimming, etc amongs others.
However, the good news is that we can do if not all, atleast a few of these fitness activities indoors. Read on to learn how:
a) Replace your morning or evening walk outdoors with the same activity indoors, which is essentially doing a Power Walk on the treadmill. Be sure to do some arm exercises to work out the biceps and triceps as you walk. This will ensure that you get a complete body workout.
b) Another fantastic cardio exercise you can indulge in is Skipping! Skipping is an effective way to burn those excessive calories, as well as to get a satisfying high inensity and a high impact aerobic workout.
c) Cross -trainer – getting on the cross trainer for 30 minutes atleast4-5 times a week, will give a well balanced cardio intensive workout. The cross trainer is a multi-purpose workout machine, as it works out all the arm muscles, as well as all the leg and thigh muscles.
d) Core Training – core training exercies can effectively be done at home as well. All you need is a nice floor mat. Core training includes working out all the core muslces,which includes the Abdominals (Lower and Upper), Obliques, Sides of the Abs, All thigh muscles including the Quads, Hamstrings, Outer Thigh and Inner Thigh muscles, Push-ups, amongst others.
e) Squats – One can do all kinds of Squat exercises indoors which are fantastic for your Legs, Butt and Thigh muscles. Squat exercises includeFront Squats, Side Squats. Please note that Squats are also effective for working out and trimming those Abs muscles!
f) Stretching Exercises – and finally last but not the least, please do not forget to end of your exercise routine with a good and long enough Stretching Exercises to relax those worked out muscles. Your stretching regimen should include Front, Back and Side stretches, as well as the ʻSplit Strechʻ for those who have good flexibility.
